The camp’s expansive main building is raised off the ground to afford wonderful views and let wandering wildlife pass below. The well-furnished and beautifully decorated lounge houses a good-sized library as well as a well-stocked bar. Outside, a huge viewing deck leads the way to both of the camp’s plunge pools, complete with help-yourself poolside bars. Meals are enjoyed indoors, outside on the star-lit deck or around the convivial campfire in the outdoor boma, a traditional eating area. A table for two is easily arranged in the privacy of your suite, as are relaxing massages and picnics for all-day safaris.

Activities at Mombo Camp
- Morning & Afternoon Game Drives
- Private Guiding Available
- Full-day Safari & Picnic Lunch
- Bird Watching

Mombo Camp’s location has long been recognised as one of the best in the Okavango Delta for game viewing. The nutrient-rich northern tip of Chief’s Island can sustain far greater densities of animals than other parts of the delta, and the juxtaposition of different habitats means diversity too. Early morning and late afternoon game drives go in search of Mombo’s famous lion pride, often seen on the hunt, and the area is good for leopard and spotted hyena too.
Bull elephants and buffalo herds wander through the area, and there are good numbers of giraffe and many antelope species. Bird watching is especially good at Mombo Camp, and the reintroduction of rhino into the area means that a Big 5 Botswana safari is now possible. A full-day game viewing safari, complete with picnic lunch, can be arranged.
