Cruising the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, Chobe Princesses provide a memorable way to enjoy one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations. Each of the two boats is 18 metres long and has four spacious cabins with fantastic views of the changing river scenery. With your guide, you’ll enjoy game viewing and bird watching from the vantage of a small motor boat. Wildlife can also be observed from the comfort of the boat’s shaded lounge or top-deck plunge pool.

Providing a unique river-based experience, the Chobe Princesses are ideal for discerning safari travellers and those in search of a more intimate and unusual approach to a Chobe River safari. A chef, guide and housekeeper ensure guests want for nothing, and the focus in on a personalised stay.

Chobe Princesses conduct all their safari activities by boat. During the Chobe’s peak game viewing period, this gives Chobe Princesses’ guests the advantage of water-based viewing. This is excellent for wildlife and sunset photography and also avoids the high-season crowds. Travellers on their first trip to the Chobe River may however want to combine an Chobe Princess with a stay at a riverside lodge offering game drives. There are four cabins on board each of the two Chobe Princesses. The newer of the two – Ichobezi Mukwae – has a front cabin with the advantage of its own private balcony. All cabins are surprisingly roomy and are equipped with comfortable twin beds, storage space. An en suite bathroom features a shower, toilet and hand basin. Best of all, each cabin has a large sliding window that lets in fantastic views of the Chobe River and its teeming banks. Guests don’t even have to leave the comfort of their bed to enjoy game viewing aboard an Chobe Princess.

Guests aboard the Chobe Princesses can look forward to plenty of rest and relaxation. The two boats both have a comfortable bar and lounge area as well as sun decks, complete with plunge pool and loungers. Meals are prepared by the boat’s chef and served outside whenever possible.

There are at least three staff members aboard at all times and guests can expect a personalised itinerary. The motor boats are available for game viewing, birding or fishing trips, and a personal guide will accompany you on all trips.

Drifting along the Zambezi and Chobe Rivers puts the Chobe Princesses in prime position for dramatic game viewing. Small motor boats are piloted by expert local guides, providing an excellent platform for truly amazing animal and bird photography. Wildlife concentrations are exceptional on the Chobe River during the dry winter months and guests enjoy close up sightings of elephants, hippos and buffalo.

Bird watching is impressive all year round but especially during the summer months – nearly 500 species have been recorded in the region. Guests aboard the Chobe Princesses also enjoy fishing excursions as well as visits to local fishing villages to gain an insight into life on the river.
