Days 1 - 2: The rhythm of the Okavango
Arriving at Maun Airport in Botswana, you will transfer to a shared charter flight. Your destination is the northern Okavango Delta where you’ll enjoy 2 nights at Camp Okavango. Accessible only by air and boat, Camp Okavango is a true ‘water’ camp. Accompanied by expert local guides, guests enjoy morning boat and canoe safaris, blended with island-hopping walks and bird watching. The floodplains and forests that surround Camp Okavango are full of grazing antelope, wandering elephants and lurking predators. Elegant, serene and heartbreakingly beautiful, Camp Okavango makes an ideal start to this well-crafted safari.
Days 3 - 4: Fly into the Moremi Reserve
It’s a short hop by shared charter to the Xakanaxa area of the Moremi Game Reserve. One of the best game viewing regions of the Okavango, Xakanaxa is a place of wetlands, woodland and open grassland – ideal for 4X4 drives. Leopards and wild dogs are the most sought-after animals but lions, elephants, buffalos and giraffes are among the most commonly seen big sightings. Xakanaxa Camp is your home for 2 nights. Set next to a deep lagoon, guests enjoy starlit suppers to the sound of snorting hippos and a chorus of frogs.
Days 5 - 7: Experience Savute
Leaving the delta behind, you fly to the Chobe National Park. Soon you’ll see the Savute region, a sweep of grassland in an ocean of woodland. Fed by the Savute Channel, Savute is one of Botswana’s best game viewing destinations. It’s a place where lion prides do battle with hyena clans, where giant bull elephants stand in silence at waterholes, and where leopards and wild dogs prey on antelope. You’ll enjoy 3 nights at Savute Safari Lodge, set on the channel itself. You’ll enjoy morning and afternoon drives as well as armchair game viewing from the comfort of your luxurious chalet.
Days 8 - 9: A private island retreat
A short flight to Kasane is followed by a road transfer across the border and into Zambia. You’ll arrive at Islands of Siankaba, about 30 miles upstream from Victoria Falls. Set on a private island it makes a gloriously exclusive end to the tour. Seven Tented Suites face the river and you can enjoy spa treatments, massages and candlelit suppers served on the Zambezi River. It’s the ideal base from which to explore the wonders of Victoria Falls.
Day 10: The journey ends
After a last Zambezi breakfast you transfer overland to Livingstone Airport for your onward flight. If you wish to extend your time at Victoria Falls, just let us know.
