Xigera’s communal lounge, bar and dining room lie under thatch and enjoy views over the shimmering Okavango Delta. Meals are served at the candle-lit dining table or out on the fire pit’s deck, under the stars.
Activities at Xigera Camp
- Motor Boat & Canoe Safaris
- Game Drives in Low Water Season
- Full-Day Boat Safaris
- Bird Watching
Xigera Camp is the ideal destination for travellers who want a pure, water-based delta experience. Although big game such as elephants and hippos are very much part of the landscape, Xigera offers the chance to discover the smaller details of the delta – kingfishers, frogs, fishing-owls and rare antelope. You’ll be led deep into the Okavango by expert local guides, using motor boats and traditional canoes to access shimmering floodplains and deep lagoons. It’s also a camp highly recommended for bird watchers.
Game drives are possible as long as water levels allow: low water (September to March) means more game drives; high water (usually April and August) means more boating. And when water levels are high enough, Xigera offers exciting full-day boat trips to Chief’s Island, home to much of the delta’s big game.
