Polished wooden floors and muted, organic colours greet guests as they enter their generously sized tented suite at Little Mombo. A large four-poster bed is draped with mosquito netting and a huge sofa sits next to a writing desk and table. Each suite has an en suite bathroom with a shower plus an extra outdoor shower. Outside, a wooden deck offers chairs and a table plus stunning views of the floodplains in front of camp. A walkway leads to a shaded sala with daybed – the perfect venue for an afternoon siesta or candle-lit supper. The smallest camp in the delta, Little Mombo offers only three suites, connected to main camp by an elevated walkway and spaced far apart for privacy.

Little Mombo’s elevated main lounge and dining area flow onto a wooden deck that looks out over floodplains and passing wildlife. From the deck, steps lead down to a convivial boma, a traditional outdoor eating area and a popular venue on starry nights. The camp has a small reference library to make use of as well as a fitness centre with Okavango Delta views. Guests also enjoy the attention of a massage and beauty therapist – the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon.
Activities at Little Mombo Camp
- Morning & Afternoon Game Drives
- Photography Hide
- Guided Nature Walks
- Bird Watching
A setting in the most fertile region of the Okavango Delta gives Little Mombo an advantage over other delta camps in terms of the diversity and density of wildlife. Little Mombo is a land-based camp and game viewing is conducted in open-sided 4X4 vehicles and on foot; its Moremi Game Reserve location promises unspoilt views and a pristine ecosystem.
You’ll head out in the early mornings and late afternoons to track big cats on the prowl – the area is home to large prides of lions as well as many leopards – and the good grazing attracts a multitude of antelope as well as the heavyweights – elephant, buffalo and hippo. The wide range of habitats makes for sensational birding, not least in the green summer months when migrant species appear. Guests also enjoy fantastic photographic opportunities thanks to the camp’s hide, set next to water and some 20 minutes from camp.
