About Jack’s Camp
- Colonial-style Glamour & Comfort
- Private Viewing Deck
- En Suite Bathroom & Outdoor Shower
- Four-poster Beds
The camp’s ten tented suites lie under rustling palm trees on the edge of the Kalahari grasslands, each a study in colonial-style comfort and extravagance. Persian rugs cover polished wooden floors, brass fittings gleam and the canopied four-poster bed takes centre stage. A viewing deck with easy chairs accompanies each tent as does an en suite bathroom, complete with flush toilet and shower; an outside shower is discreetly located for you to enjoy in the warm Kalahari sun or under a ceiling of stars.
- Eclectic, Hemingway-style Lounge & Bar
- Swimming Pool & Sun Loungers
- Dining Room
- Extensive Reference Library
- Fire Pit
- Battery Recharging Points
From wall-mounted skulls and art pieces to mahogany furniture and an antique billiard table, there’s not much that you won’t find in the camp’s much talked about lounge, dining room and bar. Guests can browse through the reference library (registered as a national museum!) and gaze at old maps, faded photographs and charts, a legacy of the camp’s founder.
A swimming pool provides welcome relief on hot Kalahari afternoons while the communal fire pit is popular on winter evenings. Jack’s Camp is off-grid and relies on candles and lamps for illumination at night; a generator provides limited up-time but is enough to recharge camera and video batteries. The camp prides itself on serving some of the best cuisine of any lodge, enjoyed in the fairytale ambience of the dining tent or under the stars.
