Camp Linyanti

Tucked away in a corner of the Chobe National Park, Camp Linyanti gives its guests the enviable combination of water and land-based game viewing. The setting is the largely unknown Linyanti region, a vast wetland wilderness between the Okavango Delta and the Caprivi Strip, and an area renowned for exceptional game viewing.

Camp Linyanti overlooks the Linyanti Lagoon itself, home to snorting hippos and fish-eagles, and game viewing by boat is particularly rewarding on hot afternoons when animals gather to drink. But the camp lies in prime big game country and offers morning and afternoon game drives led by expert guides. The area is one of Chobe’s wildlife hotspots and is particularly good for elephants and buffalo as well as zebra, giraffe and a wide range of predators including wild dog.

Accommodation at Camp Linyanti is provided in the form of five East Africa-style walk-in tents, offering genuine comfort and understated elegance. The camp’s small and intimate nature makes it ideal for travellers looking for privacy, and its informal, friendly atmosphere is suitable for families with older children too.

  • Morning Game Drives
  • Afternoon Game Drives
  • Boat-based Game Viewing
  • Bird Watching

Positioned next to permanent water assures Camp Linyanti great game viewing all year round but it is especially rewarding during the dry winter months when animals arrive in the area in great numbers. Linyanti is famous for its large elephant and buffalo herds as well as predators – lions and spotted hyena are often seen during the camp’s twice daily game drives, and it’s a region renowned for leopard and wild dog sightings.

The bird watching is sensational, especially during the summer months when migrant species arrive. The addition of a boat cruise on the Linyanti Lagoon provides the extra touch – look out for hippos, crocodiles and a dazzling array of birds.
