Chobe Elephant Camp

A recent addition to the lodges that overlook the famous Chobe River, Chobe Elephant Camp lies on an escarpment close to the Namibian border and offers panoramic views. Built in the style of an African farmhouse, the lodge is accessible by road or air and makes an ideal stopover for overland itineraries or travellers who want a more blended Chobe experience.

Set in Botswana’s prime elephant country and just five kilometres from the Chobe National Park’s western gate, Chobe Elephant Camp offers game drives and guided walks as well as river cruises where a wealth of wildlife can be seen. Lying in tribal land, the camp is also able to offer a cultural insight into the Chobe region with guided village visits.

With ten twin rooms and a four-sleeper family suite available, Chobe Elephant Camp can comfortably accommodate 24 guests. All rooms are en suite with both indoor and outdoor showers, and each suite’s polished floors, exposed wooden beams and weathered furniture creates a rustic and welcoming charm. Great care has been taken in the construction of Chobe Elephant Camp, making use of sustainable building materials and traditional cooling techniques.

TRIPADVISOR COMMENTS CHOBE ELEPHANT CAMP

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff, the food, the location and the rooms were outstanding. Could not recommend more highly for truly exceptional experience. We actually visited in Aug 2015 and regretted not leaving a review earlier.

So – I don’t know where to start or end really and be eloquent enough about this lodge. It is not possible to find more professional or competent staff – at least I never have had better. From our exemplary guide KG to Kelly who kept our little home away from home in perfect order to every single other staff member – they embody customer service. The lodge’s dedication to being ecologically sound is admirable. My vegetarian food was excellent – all the food was excellent. The long days spent on safari are just heaven – and then to return to be greeted with “what did you see today and do you need a drink?” Bonfires at night, southern hemisphere sky above you, animals at every turn and communal dining which encourages conversation between all the patrons – if I could go back there every year I would. If I could back every month, I would.
