Pride of the Zambezi

Lying on the Chobe River at the border of the Chobe National Park, the Pride of the Zambezi offers its guests front-row seats to one of Africa’s biggest wildlife experiences. From May to October, elephants and buffalo arrive in increasing numbers as Botswana’s dry season grinds on. Other animals, including big cats and wild dogs, are drawn to the region. The result is fantastic game viewing.

A small, luxurious house boat, the Pride of the Zambezi has no fixed schedule. Guests are encouraged to explore the river with their guide, either by 4X4 or small boat. There is excellent fishing in season, and the bird watching ranks among the best in Africa. And with Victoria Falls just 70km away, day trips to the world wonder are easily arranged.

The Pride of the Zambezi has just five suites, each an elegant haven with riverfront views: the upper deck suite has a private sun deck, making it ideal for honeymooners. Intimate and devoted to personalised service, this house boat suits discerning safari travellers looking for a unique experience. Booked in its entirety, it would make a great choice for a large group of friends of family.

  • Boat-Based Game Viewing
  • Bird Watching & Village Visits

Moored on the Chobe River at the border of the Chobe National Park, this house boat delivers excellent game viewing. Morning and afternoon game drives and boat-based safaris take centre stage but there are also other diversions. Golf, spa treatments and visits to local villages can also be included, and Victoria Falls lies only 70km away – easily accessible on a day trip.

The peak game viewing season is during Botswana’s long dry winter. From May to October the air rings with trumpeting elephants and bellowing buffalo. Predators are famously abundant here, especially lion, and there is excellent river life too – hippos, crocodiles and giant monitor lizards. The rainy summer months see a decline in animal numbers but the game viewing is still rewarding and the bird watching reaches its peak.
